The tape consists of a plastic shell and two rollers on which the film is wrapped. The tape is divided into four channels.Left and right on one side and two respectively when the film rotates in the opposite direction. All cassettes were writing on “stereo”.I don't know why, they wrote it anyway, because all the tapes were stereo, except those that had songs with mono record. Likely after an eternity of audio stereo's absence it needed a couple of decades for the consumer to deepen that the sound was now and stereo. Stereo is how we get the sounds from the environment. Taking sounds from both ears – receivers can easily head to form anoriented image for the location of each of all the musical instruments e.g. that simultaneously produce sounds. Very soon something else appeared on a label on the tape. It was the Dolby. The cartridges compared to other media players were the noisiest. This kept them at a lower preference position than the discs ,for those seeking the pure crystal sound of their favorite band. Of course cassettes were released with better quality tape, but respectively more expencive. These were the chromium(CrO2) and metal fabrication. These latter were mainly used in studios and very good recording equipment and well as the longer the better range of sound waves that could be recorded to tape .The tapes had safety record which was nothing more than two holes in the back of the shell. When the tape was recorded by a company these holes were uncovered and there it was attouched a small arm of the taperecorder, which blocked the Rec button. Many , of course in order to circumvent the safety record they put a piece of paper into the hole or a little ducktape and the tape could be rewritten again and again. After 4-5 rewrites the film degenerated and lost its magnetism and so sound began developing a big noise problem and lack of clarity. Experienced knew this and did not write a tape more than twice. Empty tapes for recording options etc. had a thin projection which we broke in order not to be erased by a accidental puss of the “rec” (record) button, which allthou it had a red dot on it so it is distinghuished, often the fatal was happening.I have tapes that suddenly the music stops for a few seconds and suddenly heard the sound of a vague wordless space followed by a net pressing of the "stop" button before the song returns. For me today , such short pauses have another matter because they cancarry an audio time from the past and seemes more like small sound documents rather than a hearing distorsion. Just yesterday I pressed by mistake “rec” again.Remembering braking the safety projections.Maybe someday, maybe after a few decades, listening to the same tape this pause by accidentally pressing the “rec”,transferres me at a time, to today, my thoughts, my perceptions and expectations which are changing along with the world.-
